Grab and Go Box - Features

Return to the Grab and Go Box Page

The Grab and Go Box template includes items that would be useful, if not vital, in the event of an evacuation or a prolonged “stay at home” situation where supplies or access to supplies such as food, water, fuel or other items has become restricted. The form includes some optional text boxes which might be particularly useful if one anticipates the possibility of a prolonged emergency situation.

  • Vendor and UPC code: These are for the purpose of facilitating the purchase or repurchase of items, either by in store shopping, shopping online or by using a delivery service.

  • Calories: The calorie content of your stored items can be listed and the total can be calculated. This helps to stock your supply according to your estimate of the the maximum duration of an emergency where food and water may be difficult to obtain.

  • Date Code (DCmm and DCyy): This is usually printed on the package of perishable items.

  • Date Type (DT): This will typically be the “Best if used by” date that appears on the packages of perishable food items. (Food consumed beyond the “Best if used by" date may lose flavor or quality, but is not necessarily unsafe.)

As a user, you will be given the option of being notified of upcoming expiration dates of perishable items in your Grab and Go Box.
